Hello. I'm a Japanese college student.
Food culture is completely different from country to country. Therefore, there are countries that eat foods that we do not eat. For example, people in Denmark eats dolphins and people in China and South Korea eat dogs. Moreover, Japan people eats whales and horses. However, Japanese whaling has been criticized by Australia. The reason is that whales are likely to become extinct, but people in Australia also eats dugongs. Don't impose your values on other countries, and don't think on your standards.
