In business English, what does it mean if someone says Lets get the ball rolling? It means to begin something. You might hear this in a meeting, when the chair person wants to begin. You could also use it it in regards to the start of a project, "we need to get the ball rolling on the marketing campaign by start of quarter 3" You can also use it in a general context "I had to get the ball rolling with organising my sisters birthday party, before it was too late to book anything" Can you give an example of how it could be used?
