There are two different words both spelled "forte."
In music, "forte" means "loud," and is the opposite of "piano." Because it is a word borrowed from Italian, it is pronounced roughly like Italian. The final "-e" is pronounced like "-ay," fort-AY. It rhymes with "today."
"Forte" can also mean "a person's special talent, something they are particularly good at." "He's a good dancer, but his real forte is singing." In the United States, this word is pronounced in two different ways, both considered correct. I've heard it most commonly pronounced exactly like the word "fort," one syllable, and I pronounce it that way myself. But it can also be pronounced fort-AY, exactly as in music.

Not quite. The second syllable should rhyme with “day”.

There are different accents and dialects especially in the UK that affect peoples's pronunciation but this word is always spoken like fortAY in British speaking.
It is a foreign word to English so the final E is spoken as per the originating language.
