I'm practicing to make sentences with a phrasal verb 'set the bar high' that I learned today.
Could you please make my writing more natural?
Thank you in advance.
Our national baseball team won the gold medal on last Olympics and they set the bar high on Tokyo Olympics.
People thought that they would be motivated to live up to their reputation as a past gold medalist but sadly they let us put down.

Hi, your sentence looks pretty good. Just a few minor corrections.
Our national baseball team won the gold medal at the last Olympics and they set the bar high for the Tokyo Olympics.
People thought that they would be motivated to live up to their reputation as a past gold medalist but sadly they let us down.

Our national baseball team won the gold medal (at the) last Olympics, setting the bar high (for the) Tokyo Olympics.
People thought that they would be motivated to live up to their reputation as a past gold medalist but sadly they let us down.
(Let us down means they disappointed us. Put us down means they said something negative about us.)
