When in Rome, Do as the Romans Do
This phrase refers to the importance of adapting yourself to the customs of the people who are in a certain place or situation and behave as they do.
Example of Use: “Are you sure we should eat this with our hands?” Answer: “Why not? All of these people are eating it that way. When in Rome, do as the Romans do!”

As a native English speaker, I use this phrase all the time! I usually use the shortened version which takes advantage of the first half of the phrase and simply say,
“When in Rome!”
