The 20th of December 2022
Currently, I'm reading 'Your Name' by Makoto Shinkai in Japanese. So far I read it until the scene with Mitsuha in Taki's body working in a very busy Italian restaurant. It's not too difficult and I am enjoying the story in the original language!
It's been two and a half years since I bought this book and reading it was really difficult back in those days.
There were a lot of words which I didn't know and even when I did, it was still difficult to grasp the meaning of an entire line. Because of this, no matter how many times I try to read, I always lost my motivation.
However, after 2 years of improving my reading comprehension, I can finally read this book and there is no painful effort to make anymore.I can also figure out what is narrated and if there is an unknown word, I can search it quickly as I am using a Kindle reader. It's a lot of fun! At the same time I'm listening to the audiobook which makes me practice pronunciation. In my opinion, It's the most perfect way to study a language (when you reach a good level of course!).
I'm really looking forward to reading other Japanese novels.
