How do you say “ did you miss me ? “ in italian ?
I’m confused by “ti sono mancato” ??
Why isn’t it called “ mi hai mancato ? “
And why do “I missed you” means “mi sei mancato” ?
Please can someone explain 💛💖 Grazie mille

“Ti sono mancata” if it’s from a female speaker. 😉

Hi. Basically Italian has a total different structure in this case. The subject of the verb "to miss" in English is the object of the verb in italian and vice versa. The correct translation is "Ti sono mancato?"
The second one follows the same logic. I(subject in English, not in Italian) missed You(object in English/subject in Italian).

Hi! Yeah, "Did you miss me?" is translated "Ti sono mancato?" into Italian.
The meaning of "Mi hai mancato" is: you failed to hit me, for example with a fist. It's quite complicated, I know that :)
