A funny Spanish idiom:
"Quedar como Cagancho en Almagro".
(Equals to "quedar en ridículo". Translation: Perform like Cagancho in Almagro).
Joaquín Rodríguez Ortega, alias Cagancho was a Spanish bullfighter of gipsy origin who alternatively performed very great and awfully poor shows during first half of 20th century. One of his worst, at the Almagro town's bullring in Ciudad Real province of Spain, was reportedly so poor and ridiculous that it infuriated an audience wanting to beat him, and ended with him escorted/arrested by the law enforcement Guardia Civil.
The expression is not widely used in my country, and honestly I know close to nothing about bullfighting, but this historical episode is quite hilarious and the sound of the expression is also very funny in Spanish. This may be caused by the phonetic proximity of this matador's alias, Cagancho, to the word "cagón", a comical way to call someone a coward in Spanish metaphorically implying he does his stuff in his pants.
