Here "ride" is being used to describe a carnival attraction that people sit on, like a ferris wheel, roller coaster, etc.

As a verb:
You ride that which moves and it gives you an experience of riding eg:
You ride a car, You ride a bike, You ride a horse
A ride: - as a noun
- is that which you GET ON, to get the experience of riding
"I am going on a ride"
this could be a drive in a car, a ride on a horse, a ride on a bicycle.
(giving you the experience of getting away or a short escape)
The ride now becomes the object,
eg. the horse is the ride, the car is a ride, the bicycle is the ride
In your reading extraction above: The Cranium Shaker is the ride
Often in the English expression people would say 'Let me show you my ride'- another way to say, "let me show you my car!"
