Hi everyone, please let know whether these two words are synonyms or not.
"I just got a new job and I like it because it is a fortnite payment job"
"I just got a new job and I like it because it is a two-week payment job"
Thank you so much for your help.

Ok first it is spelled ‘fortnight’, Fortnite is a video game lol. Fortnight is a two week period. However I would write or say the second sentence like this: “I just got a new job and I like it because it pays every two weeks.” You could also say ‘because the pay is every two weeks’, (or) ‘because I get paid every two weeks.’ In the U.S. most people don’t use the word fortnight. I believe it is more common in the U.K. Hope that helps.

Hi there,
So, "fortnite" is an archaic word that we don't really use anymore in modern speech, although it does mean two weeks. In this circumstance, a more natural way to say it would be to use "I get paid" along with "biweekly," "every two weeks," or "every other week."
"I just got a new job, and I like it because I get paid biweekly."
"I just got a new job, and I like it because I get paid every two weeks."
"I just got a new job, and I like it because I get paid every other week."

You could say. “I got a new job and I like it because it pays fortnightly.” As others have mentioned, fortnight is mainly used in the UK and Australia/NZ.

Fortnight is a term from 200 plus years ago. You would not hear it in everyday usage now.
You would hear “every two weeks” or also “bi-weekly”
