Yesterday, I watched before going to sleep a highly recommended movie. I usually read some reviews or the plot of the movie before going for it. However, this time I didn’t do it and had no clue what it was about. The movie was an Argentinean thriller. The dialogues were so natural, like in a typical day of work or chit-chat between friends. This quiet realism inadvertently pulled me in from beginning to end. Some things were predictable, sure, but the core of the story wasn’t and I do like it a lot. It was a very unexpected surprise.

Normally, a surprise is already unexpected. So "unexpected" is redundant here. I prefer to amend it as in the brackets.
