Ich will sagen, dass ich glücklich bin, dass sie meine Eltern sind. Sie waren mir immer eine große Hilfe. Sie haben mir immer Liebe gegeben. Ich bin dankbar.

You can also put it this way: "Sie standen mir immer mit Rat und Tat zur Seite." A rhyming idiom, which literally means "to stand at someone’s side with advice and action", meaning of course to always be there for someone in every way :)
