Do you remember when you started to learn English? How long have you been learning English? I started to learn English when I was 12 years old as a junior school student. One day, when my older sister spoke some strange words to me, I was immediately attracted to this language. From then on, I became interested in studying English until I entered university. I remember clearly my first English class at university. The teacher asked us to introduce our hometown and ourselves. I was so embarrassed because I had never practiced my oral skills. I felt the gap amongst my classmates. Those from advanced areas, especially from the big cities, had learned English in the correct ways. From listening to speaking, and then reading and writing. But the ones from other areas especially from the rural region just read the content from their books. So I spent almost one third of my time learning English at university. Fortunately, after working hard for many years, I passed all of my English tests, yet I still can't converse with others fluently. What's worse, I didn't continue to learn English once I started working until when I saw my daughter still using the outdated method to learn English. I determined to continue learning English with her. At present, I can see the obvious progress she is making. She can understand all the sentences from "Peppa pig" and speaks English every now and then. Although we make a lot of mistakes, we can learn from the mistakes. We are grateful that we can learn from the original books and videos from the UK and America. We also got a lot of help from our friends in other countries. Just do it. We are not afraid of making mistakes, our biggest enemy is idleness.
