I am no expert in this field! - but this is what I think: "seismic activity" is any kind of underground movement, that can be very slight - almost imperceptible, or very strong and powerful like an earthquake" An "earthquake" is usually a significance incidence of underground movement that causes surface damage. The Richter scale is used to measure the precise severity of earthquakes. If you put these two terms in a search engine, I'm sure you'll find some more scientific and exact definitions... ,🙂
