Music you like from Korea? 음악?

I think one of the best ways to help learn a language is listening to music. It's helped me a lot with Spanish. However, I'm having a hard time finding music I like :/

Some of the K-pop is fun but it's not really my style.

I've noticed that a lot of Korean music seems really influenced by western style music, particularly American pop music. There have been a lot of songs I've been listening to in Spanish that do have american rock influences as well but it also feels a bit more cultured.

Songs like Mal Bicho and Sin Documentos are good examples of this. Maybe there is some popular Korean music that has it's own influences in its culture?

But, if not, it seems some of the music I really like is a little more unique. I've seen people wanting song suggestions on here before and they asked him what kind of music he liked. So, I think the songs you can use as references are Bailando Solo by Los Bunkers and What You Meant by Franz Ferdinand.

Thanks, guys!

Maybe I could have written this in Korean but I can't do it well enough :(

So, maybe next time.

감사합니다!

I know, K-pop has been influenced by western culture... most of k-pop nowadays has been Americanised or either it is Eurocentric. So the lyrics are mixture of English and Korean which is not really good for your learning Korean. But,still there are some Korean songs with only Korean lyrics I recommend.

I have linked it on the below...

the band called 'Jang Ki Ha and The Faces', hope you like it !

I would say i half agree with what you said.

No offense, I just want to introduce you that there are many good musics that is more Korean attractive. And ofcourse good to learn Korean language.

One of the good example is Ballad. (Lee Soo Young) etc

These are the names of Korean musicians basing on Ballad musics I would like to recommend.

- try this. its a very old song of Shin Seung Hoon(I believe, OST of movie "My Sassy Girl", 2001) and still it is one of the favourites among Koreans.

[I guess this clip is uploaded by a Chinese guy; there is Chinse subtitle, please ignore.]

There are many songs you would be interested. Its just that they are not known or introduced to outer Korea.

(FYI : Since the word, "k-pop" itself was made by the music exporters to let the English speaking people(meaning the world) to get the image of the Korean musics and musicians in minds.

And those "exported musics" are attractive because they were made to be attractive to the world. )

Oh, yeah, a reason I've been able to find a lot of music I like in Spanish is because of Pandora. Pandora seems limited on choices for Korean music. Maybe there's something else I can use? Thanks!
