ACRONYMS

What is an acronym ?

An acronym is a kind of abbreviation. Acronyms are formed from the initial letters or groups of letters of words in a phrase.

For example:

FYI - F
or Your Information

You may have received an email that included FYI in the subject line or message. This means that you don't need to respond or take action. The sender just wants you to be informed.

Why do we use acronyms ?

Acronyms are used regularly in many contexts. Using acronyms is helpful when we use repeated reference to certain terms. Acronyms also give a sense of importance to proposed ideas, processes, or methodologies.

Acronyms can also be fun !
