I agree about Yurie's definition of 'forging frontiers' and I second what Adrian says about the referundum.

Nobody - not even the leaders of the 'Leave' campaign - ever believed that Brexit would win. When the votes were counted early on the morning of Friday 24th, we in Britain were as shocked as the rest of the world was.

I think Yurie Kim has got the general idea of "forging frontiers" : with the impression of expanding knowledge, business operations, etc.

I feel compelled to remark that if David Cameron and the political establishment in the UK had thought that they would 'lose' the referendum i.e. there would be a vote for 'Brexit', they would not have held it. I agree, though, that it has been a model exercise in democracy, giving citizens the power to take a monumental decision, even if they make the 'wrong' one.

forging frontiers? forging roughly means creating, frontiers means places where known and unknown meets. mainly a place to explore more. so forging frontiers roughly means creating new places for exploration. or in business setting, being in the forefront of your field and exploring more - and that makes you a leader in the said field. that's the meaning from the top of my head. but of course google can answer better hahaha

Brexit? hmm.. it means the country and leaders are democratic enough that they can make decisions by following the people's voice even when it may be against their own beliefs. i think democracy can be good or bad depending on the context. in brexit particularly, i'm not from there and not an expert and have read little about it so my little views are better left unsaid for i recon they will be mostly uninformed.

btw, i'm learning English and want to improve that's why i'm on italki. please feel free to correct my grammar or give feedback..
