Russian children's stories

Hello everyone,

Can someone advise me for Russian children's stories, I'm learning Russian and using simple stuff may help me learning basics :)

I thought that children sentences may be interesting to understand basics of Russian. Because, Russian sentences structure is really different than latin languages.

Do you have any recommandations for a basic foreigner? Thank you.

I am not sure that Russian children stories are the right choice for a foreigner who learns Russian - it's too specific in vocabulary (I don't think you really need to know all the names of animals, the sound they produce etc.) and also the Grammar used (e.g.too many diminutives)+old-fashioned syntax used in fairy tales.
