BTT, BTW, LOL , 2moro, WYWH, XOXOXOX...Does it look like English?

What can spoil beautiful English language? I know all these acronyms very popular nowadays. But is it beautiful? It looks like morse. Isn't?

As a learner of English language, I want to know what words or things in your point of you can spoil language. What words you don't like when learners say?

Why do you think it's so ugly? Why is "by the way" inherently more beautiful than "btw"? This is just informal shorthand in text messages and online chatting.

Calling this language bad is like saying swimsuits look stupid. Of course, if you walked around a shopping mall in a swimsuit you'd look like an idiot, but at the beach it's just fine. Similarly, such acronyms are fine in text messages, just not in academic writing, etc.

I gotta say, even though those acronyms are practical for an informal chat, they can be annoying when used too much. I never browse for their meaning, so it took me like a year to guess what something like ROFL meant until I guessed it by the context lol. It seems to me the English language likes its shortcuts, so I guess we should adapt as it changes imho

Slang ? Why should I vast my time learning it? I have seen even teenagers coould express their point of view sharing very interesting thoughts. When the thought has a meaning and sense it doesn't need anything else.

As Alan said these abbreviations "is just informal shorthand in text messages and online chatting".
They generally enrich the conversation, as well as, for example, smilies.
It is clear that for beginners to learn the language they cause difficulties, because they are not found in standard dictionaries.
They just need to be studied, just like other words, for example slang.
You can find out their meaning by searching Google.
There are a lot of articles and forums on the subject of such reductions.

Thank you. It is interesting for me reading your comments.

Thank you Alan for your comment. I don't like these abbreviations. Hw r u? - What is it? I am a learner, and maybe I don't understand English completely, but I believe it is better to write: " How are you? How are you doing?" It takes few seconds.
