some verbs in Persian used in different meanings In this discussion, I am going to explain some Persian verbs with different meanings. The followings are what I am going to explain.
1. The verb خوردن in Persian which is used as: 
- eating food  غذا خوردن
- falling down زمین خوردن
- being shot by bullet تیر خوردن 
- 2 things colliding به هم خوردن
2. The verb زدن for which I couldn't find a suitable equivalence in English in order not to make readers confused: 
- brushing teeth مسواک زدن
- playing an instrument  ساز زدن
- Calling someone by telephone تلفن زدن
- speaking حرف زدن
- knocking the door در زدن
- turning around دور زدن
- shouting فریاد زدن
3. The verb کردن  used as 
- to work  کار کردن
- to leave  ترک کردن
- to live زندگی کردن
- to make درست کردن
- to guide  راهنمایی کردن
- to take care  مراقبت کردن
There many other similar compound verbs in Persian which are made by similar verb roots.
