I decided to go for the following project: to start up a discord server for learners of German of all levels.
Why?: I always read about the difficulties people have to find language partners. Off and on people try to start Whattsapp groups or Skype groups, I do not know if they ever realized their project. My idea is to gather all these people on one server. And I think discord serves the purpose very well.
The app is for pc as well as for smartphone. It is a free app, since the developers can live on sponsors. They pemanently improve the app.
You can put up serveral chat rooms for written chat as well as for voice chat, unfortunatly there is no video call , yet. But with different channels groups do not get too overcrowded, and it should be room for a lot of people to join.
Awesome would be if native speakers would join as well as learners, so the learnes have the most possible profit out of it. Since I met a lot of people on italki that are not only here for language reasons I hope there are some Germans that would love to make new friends, help and learn about different cultures and in that way are interested to join.
The first problem might be a permanent link that sometimes turns out not to be permanent. But there is always the possibility to send out individual links which will be usable for 24 hours.
So installl the app and let's go?? And spread the news.
