Jasara Meaning
Hello,
I am wondering what the meaning is of جَسَرَ (jasara), and if it would be a name that could be used for a business or person? Does it have positive or negative connotations for a native Arabic speaker?
Thanks,
Keith

It means that someone has the courage to do something..
It's English equivalent is (dare)
It could be used as a boy name (جاسر) and it is very famous especially in the gulf

جَسَرَ is a verb that relates to bravery and courage: to have the courage (to do something). It's not a common word, though.
PS: Seeing that this is posted in the Levantine Arabic section, I'd like to point out that this is a Standard Arabic word. I cannot speak for Levantine Arabic.

Yea it usually means bridge. I looked it up in the dictionary. As a verb it means to dare or take a risk. But I never heard it used like that.

Do mean جِسْر bridge. That's the only thing that comes to mind

OK, so you just think of a typical bridge going over some water? I've read it can also mean bold or foolhardy.
