"I love the movies which talk about overcoming personal adversities and sports movies are a good place to look for that."
I agree, Carlos! Sports movies always have a positive effect on me.
A good story comes to mind when speaking about sports movies. Have you ever watched "Man on Wire" before?
It's a documentary: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1155592/ about the man who made a walk on a wire between
New York City's World Trade Center's twin towers in 1974. They also made it into a movie called "The Walk":
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3488710/
I preferred the documentary over the movie. Both are good though because the story is great. I recommend that you
watch it. I remember being glued to the screen watching Man on Wire as he was so courageous and he done all his
preparations for this walk illegally. So you can imagine him walking on a wire at 417 m height with policemen waiting
for him on both buildings to catch him :D
I actually watched Remember the Titans, Warrior and The Wrestler before. Zodiac and Seven as well :) Remember the Titans
is worth watching more than once as I find it inspirational. Denzel Washington did a great job!
Thank you for recommending Tesis! I've never watched it before. I've just found it online with English subtitles, so I think
I'm going to cheat a little and look at the subtitles when I don't understand everything they say :)
Into the Wild is one of my favorite movies as well, Carlos! Especially that it's a true story.
I love movies in general and those who know me well would call me a movie buff :) I've never watched Donnie
Darko or In Bruges before, so I think at least I will watch In Bruges soon. Thank you for the recommendations.
Regarding which movies made a difference in me. Movies with a sport twist tend to change a lot in me, Like:
1. Chariots of Fire: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082158/
2. Ali: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt00248667/
3. Cinderella Man: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0352248/
4. The Blind Side: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0878804/
Sometimes I would cling to a movie just because of one scene that includes sports and some challenge, like the
scene of the leading actress in "Sleeping With the Enemy" when she was finally able to swim after fearing water
all her life: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0102945/
I guess I love sports, that's why :)
Also, I would always remember mystery movies like:
1. The Game: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119174/
2. The Others: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt000000000230600/
3. The Sixth Sense: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0167404/
After all, remembering a movie means it made a difference in us and forgetting it fast means it was nothing special.
For me it is " The Passion of The Christ". After watching this movie yuo begin to understand better yuorse4lf life/ This movie gives me more strengh and power to overcome my troubles.
It´s clear that you really love movies Mumtaz. Me too :)
One movie with a sport topic that makes me feel something was
Remember the Titans https://www.filmaffinity.com/es/film952099.html .It´s really emotional and I think that is more difficult to make good movies of collective sports than individual sports like boxing for example. I love the movies which talk about overcoming personal adversities and sports movies are a good place to look for that.
Others two movies about sport that I find amazing are :
1. The wrestler https://www.filmaffinity.com/es/film545673.html
2. Warrior https://www.filmaffinity.com/es/film629411.html
I´ve seen Ali. I love Will Smith, I try to watch everything he plays. Cinderella man it´s great and The blind side is so sweet, I enjoyed a lot this movie and makes me like Sandra Bullock again
About those mistery movies:
1. I liked the game . I love David Fincher. I recommend you Zodiac and Seven , from this director
2.The Others is breathtaking. Its director is spanish. If you want to practice some spanish listening you can see his second best movie, in my opinion Tesis https://www.filmaffinity.com/es/film531662.html
3. The Sixth Sense was really impressive at that time
