What are the most effective strategies for learning vocabulary?

I'm trying to do some research on the most effective ways to learn vocabulary, and I'd like to get your input. What has helped you the most for expanding your vocabulary? Thank you in advance.

For me the most effective strategy is to listen to a video, a podcast or a song several times. After that, I create flashcards with phrases to remember the new words or expressions

Watch movies and read comics in English subtitles. And I note new vocabularies and make sentences using those words.

For me. I use an app. I started using it. I became its premium members. It sent me notification(new words with definition and synonym, antonyms and example sentences. It has game and exercise.)

I read a lot and listen to a lot in the target language.
But my main way to increase my vocabulary is to use the Spaced repetition methods (https://knowledgeplus.nejm.org/blog/spaced-repetition-the-most-effective-way-to-learn/ ). 
I like Memrise (the study of new words, expressions, perhaps grammar). 
In Memrise I use standard training kits based on a minimal dictionary with a gradual increase in level. 
Memrise usually offers a lot of such courses for all major languages. In good courses in Memrise, whole phrases are studied, not just individual words.
Memrise is for the computer and for the smartphone (I use the option for a smartphone, it is much more convenient).
At the moment I study 4 languages in parallel: English, Portuguese, Polish and German. To increase and maintain the dictionaries of these languages, I daily perform gradually increasing tasks in Memrise. Most of the emphasis I now make on the Portuguese language, so I have 5-6 Portuguese courses in Memrise, and every day I spend 30-40 minutes on it. And for example in German - 5-10 minutes daily (mainly to maintain what I already know and a small increase)
And of course you must use the words in contexts .
