The Art of Selfishness: How selfish are you?
Being selfish is often seen in a bad light, but sometimes a little selfishness is actually needed in order to survive “a rat race.” I am an individualistic person, although I enjoy joining teams of different sports, I try to maintain a certain level of individuality and yes, selfishness. When people send an invitation before, I immediately say yes! Without batting an eyelash Because to get somewhere you need to please others. I found that it is okay to say NO! “I'm sorry, I can’t go, I have a job to do and my family needs me..” Peer pressure is tough is sports as camaraderie is needed and sometimes you always have to attend events that you don’t even like. Last year, I decided to put myself first, my job and my family. Is it bad? Nope! Several years ago, I came across a book called “The Art of Selfishness” by David Seabury, his book is one of the first self-help books, it was not received with much enthusiasm from some sectors, but there are a few points out that are useful in that book.
