How Do You Make the Best of Notebook Entries?
I like the concept of Notebooks and being able to receive feedback from native speakers here on italki; however, sometimes I'm a little more confused than when I started.
I'm appreciative of grammar and spelling corrections, but I'm oftentimes puzzled by word choice changes or grammar that's not necessarily incorrect, but completely different from what I'm learning because it's colloquial. This makes it more difficult to learn because I have to start over again and learn a new system/pattern when I'm trying to master another one.
I'm concerned that if I layout what exactly I want the native speaker to focus on in my entry, then the native speaker will pass by my entry because it'll require more than just rewriting my entry in a more natural way.
Do you think think native speakers would be less likely to help if I added some guidelines to reviewing my entry? What do you try to learn when making Notebook entries on italki and receiving feedback? If you don't use that feature of the site at all, then what do you like to do that's an equivalent?
