A goal is an end point, something you want to achieve. A passion does not have an end; it is something you truly love. Sometimes they can be synonymous - for instance, you have a passion for languages and your goal is to be fluent in one or more, or you are passionate about writing and your goal is to publish your novel. But the passion exists even if the goal is not met, or there is no goal. Some people love languages but have no clear goals; some adore writing but don't care if their work is published or read.
