1 - Hello, I am from Brazil. I have started to learn english when I was a child, then I asked my mother to study in a private english school, because here the english classes at school teach only the grammar part. But I keep studying the language via internet too, it helps a lot... the websites are really good, the podcasts, the apps.... I also like to read books, magazines and talking to people from other countries help me incredibly.

2 - I prefer to learn a language at a language trainning school, but I always check if the school is really good, because lots of these language schools here in Brazil are not good and they ask for lots of many. I would like to add that learning a language in the internet is very nice too, I have learned italian in the internet.

4 - My favorite method is to practice the language I am learning with someone who is native. I love to do that, it really helps me!

A. I learned myself by

Audio tapes (Pimsleur). It was a very gentle introduction to the language. I didn't gain much in terms of vocabulary but it was good as a foundation course.

2. Which way do you prefer to, learning online or learning in language trainning school ?

I would prefer learning in a language school/face-to-face but it's not very practical. The advantage of learning online is that you do this on your own terms and around your personal commitments (eg family, work, etc...). But I don't think much can replace face-to-face interaction.

3. What you think is the most efficient approach for a beginner / intermeidate / advanced?

For beginners, get some simple dialogues going. When I started I did not have the confidence to speak - and once I overcame that hurdle (only took me 2 years -_-) learning became much easier.

4. What's your favourite and effective method to learn a foreign language ?

By putting it in practice wherever you can! Shops, restaurants, at work, take-aways, ...

5. What kind of teaching style do you prefer ?

Whatever is interactive. I lose interest if I am not involved in some way.

5. What kind of lessons do you prefer, formal lessons or informal lessons?

I think a mix of both is fine but I enjoy the structure of formal lessons. I guess informal lessons give the students a chance to ask questions.

7. What lesson structure do you prefer, topic-based structure or grammar based(textbook- based) structure ?

Again, a mix of the two. Grammar is really important but I find it is best learnt with context.

8. What topic you like to talk about when you learn a language with someone ?

Anything!
