Dreaming in another language?

Has anyone had a dream in another language? I had a teacher in high school that asked exchange students that spoke English as a second language when they started dreaming in English. I thought that was an interesting question to ask someone, so now I'm asking you. :)

I have dreamed in three foreign languages, and like ayyoub, in my dream I found myself speaking them better than I do when I'm awake.  Perhaps when one is dreaming, "speaking" another language is a matter of pure mind, and the body doesn't get in the way.  Whatever the reason, it was a pleasant experience.

It can sometimes be bothersome. When I am intensinly studiying a language I might have a night where I keep waking up and having all of this forgien language rambling in my brain, then go back into my dream and this goes on and on all night. I sometimes have to get up and splash cold water on my face!

I have dreams in English often, but it's understandable as I use English every day (my fiance is English).

I dreamt once or twice in Spanish, but not in Korean yet. But I'm sure it's coming.

But I agree that this depends more on how contact you have with a language than on your ability to speak.

Hello Brooke.

I actually don't know.. I am living in a small country encapsulated by nations in which they speak another tongue. We switch languages all the time. If I would have had a dream in German, Spanish, French or English, I probably would not have noticed it as something special. Speaking, thinking and hence even dreaming in another language is not that, say, 'special'. I've never had a dream in Korean, that I am sure of. My Korean is too bad.
