The only brazilian band I really enjoy listening to is called Legião Urbana, I love the lyrics.

You should try, besides you will also learn beautiful phrases :).

Sofia, Tom Jobim (António Carlos Jobim) and Vinícius de Moraes are the composers of the best known bossa nova songs, search for them and you'll find lots of good material.

My favorits are João Gilberto (Getz/Gilberto, an album from Stan Getz and João Gilberto, is a must), Tom Jobim, Elis Regina and Toquinho. Caetano Veloso, Chico buarque, Paulinho Moska, Gilberto Gil and Sérgio Mendez are very good bossa and bossa-like musicians. Baden Powell is also a must if you like guitar music.

I don't know much about it but I had a music teacher who made me listen to this group called "Banda Eva" very modern and I ended up loving it It makes me wanna dance every time I listen to it. And Juan what bossa nova bands can you recommend me? I love bossa but is not common in my country so I just know a few singers.
