To feel peace in our life and avoid low power to our life equilibrium and save a good state of spirit, just ignore that , and try to find an excuse to this person and forget that at all ;Like that you get an enter peace inside.Actually I read a book talking about low powers , power of intention etc ... I found this attitude will save us, burning neurons in things rather then saving them to more serious issues.I am using this strategy recently it helped me.
Here's how Americans generally deal with yawning during a conversation:
If You are the one yawning....
1. cover your mouth when you yawn.
2. Make a brief apology, something like: "Oh, sorry, I't not you..."
3. Offer an explaination for your yawn: "I was up too late last night..." "It's way past my bedtime..."
If your Friend yawns...
1. politely ignore it
2. assume that he or she was not trying to be offensive
3. gently tease your friend. You can say something like: "Do you need another cup of coffee?" or "Did you stay up late playing computer games last night?"
If they continue to yawn a lot, it may be that they are really tired, but they don't know how to politely end the conversation so that they can go to bed. You can help them out by gently suggesting that maybe they really need some sleep.
I find that one of the hardest things to figure out in an unfamiliar culture is how to end a visit politely. So many of the unspoken signals and expectations are very particular to one's culture.
It is sometimes that language partners work very long hours in their English practices
with many students.
Then some student, who does little of such work, comes along and acts personally offended if their partner "yawns".
I have encountered students who act offended if you do not "love" them.
They do not appreciate that you give them the time to practice.
Language partners can be capricious because the expect something "more" than language practice.
I also think that a yawning person should apologize as it is not very polite. When there are obvious signs of disinterest, I have no questions and I would stop a conversation. Anyway, this is my first discussion on italki. I'm suprised that somebody has downvoted my discussion. Is it only interesting to discuss favourite songs and books? Are our relationships with other people not so interesting?
It depends, generally I don't reguard it as disrespectful because a yawn cannot be controlled. Sometimes I yawn if I listen to someone talk a lot, but I never mean any disrespect. If the person is acting bored, rolling their eyes and yawning to show disinterest, then I would feel a little bit disrespected.
