So last night, I heard this performance of Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" on someone's cellphone. This morning, I listened to it on my work computer. Man, listening to it on a cellphone really did not do it justice! I love this girl's voice! In fact, I think her version of this song is actually way better than Miley's. Several of my American friends on Facebook agreed too. I really believe this girl has the gift of music... that she could rock the stage here in America even, not only with her voice but also with her looks.
I would like to know more about her story. Someone on the thread mentioned that she is Shila Amzah From Malaysia. That is sooooooo awesome! I guess English is a second language in Malaysia too, which is probably why her pronunciation of English is sooooooooooo perfect. Man, I am so blow away. :)
I am glad that she isn't wearing typical western clothing in the video too because I think that just adds to her appeal.... and the shock factor which I think a lot of people would be taken back by when they first see the video. Totally giving props to this girl for being so amazing vocally. :)
So yeah... Now I want to find some of her albums to buy. Woot! Woot! :)
Hear her version of the song here: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=445268112278967
I don't like the music genre but I recognize that girl has a great talent! Wonderful and fascinating voice. And, last but not least, she is so beautiful.
I think that Miley Cyrus should learn that is not necessary to show the body and to make sexual imbarracing gestures to be an artist.
I see. Yeah, I agree. :)
I agree with you Shawn about Madonna, and I didn't mean that all artists must sing with a Burka to be credible :) I just wanted to say that body must not become a substitute and the central part of the performance. It should be as a framework and it shouldn't detract attention from the voice.
Many artists nowadays are maybe too marketing driven.
Flashing one's body isn't even that taboo in America anymore anyhow, Francesca. I mean, when Madonna got on stage with traffic cones on her breasts in the '80s, that was pretty controversal, but now days, no one that I know of is all that shocked by it. So why even bother trying to get shock factor from that? Anyhow, I agree though. If you have to use your body instead of your voice / talent to get ahead then that doesn't really showcase how great of a singer you are. lol
haha, I also like the song very much, but i can't sing it. Miley Cyrus looks so cool in her music video.
