Weekly Discussion Topic: Challenges in Language Learning

Like last week, I'd like to put this forward as a discussion topic (or prompt for your own notebook entries!). If you would like feedback on your response, please write *feedback please* or *edit please* at the bottom.

What is the most challenging aspect of learning a foreign language? What do you struggle with the most, and why do you think this is particularly hard for you? Are their any strategies you have found to be useful?

For me, the most difficult part of this issue it is keep myself motivated, because I'm studying by my own, so I don't have the possibility to share experiences or questions with other English students, I mean I don't have any support behind me, and that aspect it's really necessary to keep the motivatión up. that's way I consider this page very useful, because this way I don't feel so alone in this process of learning. (Edit please!)

Noha: Tthe most challenging aspect is how to put aside your native language aside and to find the most effective and the appropriaite appropriate way to learn this new foreign language.
i I almost struggle with listening and speaking. and its It's hard because sometimes you can't catch up what people are saying, so it will become hard to understand what is going on, and then you'll not won't know what to say back; also because When you are listening or speaking you have to respond at once and you don't have time to think at length/for a long time more about what you are going to say. vice versa The opposite is true for writting and reading. Ffor instance, I am writting this comment and I have i've more space to think about what I am going to write, and I can even i can check what Ii've writtenwrote and correct it as much as I can. what i can correct

Ratnasari: For me, the most difficult part of to learning a foreign language is remembering the vocabulary. It's pretty hard for me to do that. Ii dont have any problem with pronunciation. then, Next, the structure of sentences (grammar) is also a bit give me a problem for me in learning languages, especially when I i should need to write wrote in another language.
Sometimes, iIf I have a lot ofmuch free time, I will write some vocabularyies in on a small piece of paper and put that word/piece of paper on to the real object. Ii dont know what is the name of this technique, but I call this "Labelling technique".
For improe To improve my grammar or my the correctness of the sentence structures, sometimes I write the diary entries using English and Korean (I am Indonesian) or I will chat with the native speakers or others who are also learninng thepse languages too.

Peter: To For me, the pronunciation is the most challenging. I think, if I could make all of the sounds correctly like a native speaker, it would be much easier to learn new vocabulary, phrases, and grammar. Maybe, writing/spelling would be the second most challenging thing.

Currently, I have no strategies how to make it easier/for making it easier/for solving this problem.
