"has been decreased" is that correct or not?
Hi,
My boss (he is not a Native English Speaker) said the the sentence "The assortment has been decresed by..." is incorrect and I have to say "has decreased" or "has been reduced"?
Can anyone tell me did I make a mistake or I can use the phrase "Has been decrease"? and Why?
Thank you in advance

Also, "has been decrease" is not correct.

You can say "has been decreased" or "has decreased".
The difference is that the first one suggests that someone or something has taken an action that resulted in the decrease. The second one still has that possibility but it does not reference the source or reason for the decrease. In most cases you can use either one though.
