Being stuck can mean stuck when you are trying to think of something and it doesn't come to mind. Also, it can mean being stuck in a place or a situation.Being stranded means also running out of gas in the middle of the desert, let's say.And it means being stuck somewhere due to various reasons.

What is the difference between "stranded" and "stuck"?
"stranded" was used much more as a sea word before man moved into space. There was a horror story of a group of divers who went out on a boat to the middle of the sea. They did their diving, had their fun, then returned on board the boat to go home. Horror! They left without a man and his wife, who were "stranded" in the sea. They were not "stuck" there because they could swim freely for several meters.
