politer vs. more polite
Which is correct: The king is more polite than other people or the king is politer than other people???
Both forms are okay. The single form, politer, politest is falling our of favour. It is used in older English. Nowadays, "more polite" and "most polite" are the more common way of saying things.
Since we are on this subject, we don't use "polite" for royalty. We usually use the word, "gracious".
