What does the word 하지 말라고 mean ?! What does the word 하지 말라고 mean ?! What is the rule?! With examples Thanks a lot :)

You need to go to "Answers" section if you have any questions. Just so you know. :)

 

If 하지 말라고 is used in its own, it means "I said 'Don't do it'." You can also use the phrase when somebody really irritates you. It's a colloquial expression.

i.e. 아참, 하지 말라고! Darn it, I told you not to do it! or Darn it, don't do it!

 

You can also use it within a sentence, ~하지 말라고 (하다). That means, "Tell (someone) not to do ~."

i.e. 친구에게 공부하지 말라고 했다. I told my friend not to study.
