Practicing English by Speaking (Conversational English) Let's reminisce our childhood days. Can you still remember of a word that you first uttered when you were a child? of course not! Did your parents involved you or had a lecture about word structures to form sentence before you request a food to eat? of course not! that's what I'm trying to point out. We learn to speak little by little "Ma . . ma . . pa . .pa" unconsciously you will utter words that you heard from others even without knowing its definition until it becomes your expression. These words (expressions) will become your habit to put it in your sentences though grammatically incorrect, but who cares!? as long as there's somebody who understands you, like family members and friends; I mean you were talking to them before by just simple words, words that become sentences, sentences become paragraphs and so on. Only an educated will criticize you about the structures, but I tell you . . . you are understood by the community as long as the thoughts and ideas come together and grouped together presto! Your ideas matters most. Others will give you feedback, responses and once you get what they really mean . . . well it’s already a conversation. So of course grammar is necessary once you have decided to study it seriously. Once you love and study a specific language you better prepare yourself before grammarians will correct you in a crowd, one tip? Know your audience first! Speaking English should come naturally within you; Self confidence to speak the language is important and be open-minded to some corrections. You will learn from mistakes and you will find it remarkable in your part once you experienced being corrected by someone else, I mean oooops! here’s the thorough understanding of studying grammar. Good luck! ;) See you in my sessions. Please free to contact me. My skype I.D is addictedinlanguage. Your Italki teacher Uary T. Mijares

from my observations, good language learners start learning a language from learning words, and they learn grammar when using the language. all in al, it's reasonable. learning words may be like collecting pokemon cards; when you have only a few, you can start enjoying the game, but when you have only the rules, you can't play the game. what's more, it would be a daunting task to learn the rules when you can't apply them when playing. you can built something with the brick, but nothing with the grammar alone. i was a bad language learner who though that knowing a language is knowing its grammar. i think it was so, because I was too lazy to square up to learning all these words. i've seen for myself that it is a bad attitude, and now I'm chiefly focusing my effort on learning vocabulary.
