Frustrated I have currently been doing Rosetta Stone Spanish for two months & seem to be grasping words but speaking and using the words are a different story. Any advice I want to at least be conversational in Spanish by August?

The pronunciation in Spanish is easier than in English, because it has less sounds. The vowels and the consonants has an specific sound and almost never change. Except with the letter "c" which has two sounds, "s" as in "ciudad" and "k" as in "cama". Also, the letter "h" is voiceless. The rest is easy, you just have to learn the sound of each letter and join it to make syllables, words and finally sentences. You can start joining the consonants with a letter and practice the pronunciation. Ex: ba, ca, da, fa, ga... then you'll be able to make and say words. Ex: cama, sala, masa, casa, tasa, taza, pata... and else.

Hi Jocelyn. If this is your only problem I would focus specifically on the speaking/pronunciation sections and "mimc" the native speaker's tone and rhythm until yours sounds just the same. Then see if you can practice the sentences with someone (or speak to a mirror). Alternatively, 1-2 hours a week with an italki teacher would really help, I think. http://www.italki.com/teacher/665499 Good luck, Heinz.
