Korean vowels can't stand alone as a letter so you need to put ㅇ before a vowel. example 아(a), 어 (eo), 오 (o),우 (u) and so on,,,. But if ㅇ was at the bottom of a word, ex: 방 (bang) ~ room, ㅇ will sound like "ng" ,,

The best way is try not to remind all the English alphabet and its pronounciation. Because Korean Language has certainly different sounds itself. For first time it might help but as time goes by it will be pain in your butt. You don't want to speak like an foreign person, you want to speak like Korean. Then drop all the western sounds and listen carefully when korean do speak. It does really help you out later on.
