I'm new here.

I am a writing teacher in Iowa, and I have 100 7th graders. I know only a small amount of Spanish, and I don't really care to learn a new language. I teach in a very progressive district that is leading the nation in technology and educational transformation. I love my job!

I have started an international group of teachers who plan projects together, and hold Skype sessions so that we can help each other. We usually help them with their English skills, and we in return learn about their cultures and share our work with them. This year we have connected with the U.K, Brazil, Turkey, Canada, Egypt, and my favorite connection, Russia. Russia is my favorite because the teacher is Elena.

I'm hoping she will join me in this community because she has so much to offer! She is intelligent and hard working! I'm want to meet some other educators here so that I can add them to my group of international classes we can learn from.
