What do names mean?
Do eEnglish speakers' names mean what they usually mean?
For example, the name BILL "Bill" shows (that) that the parents want their kids boy (kids is plural, but a singular noun is needed here) to make a fortune.
The name LOVE "Love" means love (like), affection. rather than simply the tone(l-a-v).
The name FRANK "Frank" means the parents want their kids child to be a honest man.
Is it this true?
Anyhow, I think people will associate someone with the literal meaning of the word of her or his name.
In China, the names usually contain/embody/indicate/reveal ("contain" isn't really wrong, but I think these other words are more precise) the parents's (To make a plural noun possessive, just add an apostrophe. An "s" after the apostrophe is not needed unless the plural noun does not already end in an "s".) expectations for their child.
So I'm in a puzzle puzzled.
Quotation marks are often used when referring to a specific word or letter. That is why I changed capital BILL to "Bill", and why I put "s" in quotes in my explanation about plural possessives.
