The Chinese commemorate 70th anniversary of victory over Japan (2/3) 

China calls the war, which started in the 1930's, 'The Anti-Japan War' and positions it as ’the first complete Chinese victory in an anti-aggression war ever since the Opium War'. The Communist Party insists that they had 'fulfilled the duty of a mainstay' during this war, which is was the very first and the longest anti-fascism war in the world, and one which that also created caused/generated the greatest number amount of human sacrifice.' They also emphasize that China was the main war zone of the East during the Second World War.

In addition, 84 percent of the military equipment on display for the first time and presented during the parade that day were produced domestically/domestically-made/domestic products. Through the display of these this new style equipment, China claims that they 'prove their ability and decision determination to protect the country's sovereignty and safety' and flaunts boasts that they are capable of producing these high-performance weapons within their own country, and therefore their military power having has now intensified increased to a great extent. (and thus demonstrating the extent of the increase in their military might.) <em>*military might = military power</em>

Looking back into the past, in at 1984, when Den Xiouping, then the highest most influential person, had impressed established the 'Age of Den Xiouping' by reviving the military parades after a 25 years break/gap due to the confusion upheaval during the Supreme Cultural Revolution. Likewise, having decided to perform the military parade only after only three years since his inauguration as head of the military top, there are is some speculations that Xiou Pingjing is trying to demonstrate his prestige  qualities as a strong leader.
