What is the Filipino Language like? The Filipino/Tagalog language is almost just the same as the Japanese language. So basically, Tagalog is like Romaji (Japanese language written in the English alphabet). Tagalog could mean the Main language of the Philippines or it could be a language that is in another part of the country. The "Filipino" word can be used to identify a person from the Philippines and it would be called the same way on how you call the language (obviously). If you want to learn Tagalog, you could start with the vowels and the consonants, A E I O U In English, it is pronounced differently but in Japan, the order of the vowels are A I U E O. Pronounce it in the same way you pronounce the Japanese vowels/characters but in the order of A I U E O. There are only a few people who wants to learn my language from Japan. I also wanted to learn Japanese as well but i prefer to study it online rather than going to Japan immediately. If you like, you could go there to surround and expose yourself to the language (getting off topic here lol). So the language is almost pretty much the same as Japanese but of course, there will always be a time where you'll feel discouraged or thinking it is too hard for you. But i'm telling you, you will get there. I may not absorbed the Japanese language fully but i guess i am understanding it little by little. If you want to learn the Filipino language, it would be better to talk to a native speaker you can practice with. Keep in mind that language partners won't be able to teach you the language properly but practicing it with them could be useful. I also forget a lot of words from my language because i used the English language more often than my own. Filipinos like to use shortcuts in texting/messaging like "Cge" instead of "Sige" which means in English as "Okay" or "Alright". Another example on which you will encounter more often, are the people who uses "q" or "qo" instead of "ko". Why? because the letter Q can sound exactly the same as the letter K. As for Sige, they used the letter C because of its pronunciation. You say C-ge, Sige. Just the same. Introducing yourself in the language is just easy, you can just casually say Hello or Hi. And if you are Asian and you kind of looked like Filipino then it would be easier for you to be treated equally. If you are from the Western part of the world, then we become ignorant and think you are cool like an alien from outer space so don't be surprised haha. Good bye and See yah!
