Translation of "Ocean" from Djavan(Brazilian singer) It is a song in portuguese, Djavan is an excellent singer and composer, I want to share... Could someone correct also ?^_^ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kqdlAYNEzk Ocean(Djavan) As soon, That the day dawned There on the high seas of passion I could see the time collapse Where are you? What loneliness! You forgot me At long last, Above all that is in the Earth There is nothing anywhere That will grow without you arrive Away from you everything stopped No one knows what I suffered Love is a desert And its fears Life that goes on the pain's saddle Do not know to return Give me your heat Come make me happy Because I love you You debouch in me And I am ocean I forget that to love It's almost a pain I just know to live If is for you

Ocean(Djavan)

As soon,
As the day dawned
There on the high seas of passion
I could see the* time collapse
Where are you? What loneliness!
You forgot me

At long last,
Above all that is in the Earth
There is nothing anywhere
That will grow unless you arrive
Away from you everything stopped
No one knows what I suffered

Love is a desert
And its fears
Life that rides on the** pain's saddle
It doesn't know how to return
Give me your heat

Come make me happy
Because I love you
You pour out into me
And I am an ocean
I forget that to love
is almost a pain
I just know how to live
If it is for you

*=I guess you mean "time" not "the time". "the time" is more specific but it sounds like "time" as an abstract concept might be better here.

**=like "time" and "the time", adding "the" makes it more specific but it sounds like "pain" as an abstract concept fits better

***="Debouch" is hardly ever used in english. I guess you mean something like "pour out" and we would usually use "into" instead of "in" in this kind of context

Não estou apto para corrigir mas posso dar uma dica. Você escreveu "Djavan is a excellent singer", nesse caso seria "is an", já que a palavra seguinte começa com uma vogal! Um abraço

I love Djavan! Flor de Lis is my favourite.
