Could you please check my essay? What methods governments should use to discourage the use of private cars in the centre of the city? An enormous amount of traffic in city centres is now widely considered as one of the most serious problem of modern life. Drivers constantly suffer from traffic jams and sometimes more serious disruptions. The second concern is the air pollution that poses major threat to inhabitants’ health. Last but not least, too many cars definitely spoil the atmosphere and beauty of old historic city. What would be the solution of the problem? The most obvious idea is to discourage people from using their cars for going to work and short journeys. However, just explaining things and some enlightening events for drivers would not work. Governments should invest money in order to make some fundamental changes in microstructure of modern cities. First of all, the system of public transportation should be radically improved. If it is convenient for people to go to work by means of public transport, they will certainly use their cars less often. We should also invest more money in building new branches of cities undergrounds that might be a great relief for many residents. Furthermore, many people want cycle lanes to be more convenient to use so these lanes also should be reconstructed in many cities. Along with investments, governments might improve their tax policies. The best idea would be to oblige people to pay money for using a car in the centre of the city. Inevitably, many motorists will be against the idea, but effectiveness of this method is evident. Personally, I believe that both methods could be helpful, but it has long been my feeling that if we just abandon cars from city centres, we will get the best solution of the problem. It may seem too radical but I am sure that people will get used to this regulation and not need their cars at all while they are in the centre.

Really great job! I made some subtle changes to the text and deleted the last sentence. 👏🏾
