My name is Toshiyuki. It consists of two kanji characters, Toshi(敏) and Yuki(之). Toshi is clear; it means excellence in thinking and moving. But "Yuki" is a little tricky because I know that word is common for a man's name in Japan, even though it sounds old-style, but I believe almost Japanese don’t know what that stands for. Of course, neither do I. So I look at that word in the dictionary. It seems it has various meanings, but when it focuses on the name, the dictionary says it means a growing. Finally, I reach out to what my name stands for. I like my name. It means excellent and growing.

Nice explanation! 😊 "Almost Japanese..." = "Nearly Japanese" or "Not quite Japanese". Your intended meaning is "most Japanese people". So we need to add the word "all". "Almost all Japanese..." = "nearly all Japanese people"
