This days two snowy owls have been seen in the north of Spain. This is extremely rare in my country as they’re very far from its original territory. This species is a circumpolar bird that only leaves the Tundra in winter to migrate to the vastly open areas of the Taiga. When the temperature in this part of Europe was colder than it is today, between 21 and 16 thousand years ago, then Snowy Owls were seen in these same parts of Spain. So that somehow these beautiful and awesome birds are not newcomers but old friends that come back home after a very, very long time.

Recently, (or "today" or "Currently", you could say "These days" but in this situation is sounds a little awkward) two snowy owls have been seen in the north of Spain. These days (more often you'd use Recently or Lately) two snowy owls have been seen in the north of Spain. This is extremely
rare in my country as they’re very far from their original territory. This species
is a circumpolar bird that only leaves the Tundra in winter to migrate to the
vastly open areas of the Taiga. When the temperature in this part of Europe was
colder than it is today, between 21 and 16 thousand years ago, then Snowy Owls
were seen in these same parts of Spain. So somehow these beautiful and
awesome birds are not newcomers but old friends that come back home after a
very, very long time.
Very good!
