How can I teach correct pronunciation to kids? I'm a non-native speaker teaching English to my kid. The child is 4 yo. His pronunciation is not ariticulate and cannot prununce specific ones. For example: Bath --> pronunces "th" like "baff", like a F sound Hello --> pronunces "llo" like " hewwo", a sound like W and R Car --> pronunces "r" like Caa, like a long Aaaa sound. He cannot roll his tongue. Also my child doesn't pronunce ending of a word clearly so I sometimes cannot understand what he says. One day I heard him say "She came by this truck" pointing his toy, but found out he actually said "She can buy this truck" I was in US in my late teens, and my pronunciation is quite good. I heard although a child's pearents English are not native, the child will learn and pick up correct pronunciation from TV etc. But he seems not picking correct pronuciation.

All 4 year olds make mistakes, even in their own native language. There is a free online talking dictionary of English pronunciation. Just click over the pink words to hear them spoken at www.howjsay.com/index.php?word. Here is a pronunciation site recommended by Jelena http://www.pronuncian.com

Don't push them on pressure, they're just 4-year-old children, they will be improving. At first I thought your English is not good enough, and I was thinking of you, should be hiring a well-pronounced teacher. But you said you're quite good. Then there's no need to worry about. That's just children's problem, I bet you might have heard some American/British children say "Dad, I thinkai could do bedder dan dat!" How cute are they :) Finally, children - just like all of - imitate the voice which they hear at most. And that will become their accents. So TV is fine, you are good.
