ang galing = usually means (1) "very good" but it may also mean (2) "the (thing/person) that came from"
Some examples:
(1) Filipino: Ang galing ni JP sa pagmamaneho ng mga kotse.
English: JP is very good at driving cars.
(2) Filipino: Si JP ang estudyanteng galing sa Maynila.
English: JP is the student who came from Manila.

It depends actually on how the word is used.
But sometimes, it is used when you are amazed and you just say "Ang galing!"
Its close meanings are "cool!"
"Amazing!"
"So good!"
"clever"

hi,
do you have the complete context where this phrase was used?
if it implies an amazement for something that is wonderful, it can be expressed as:
'cool'
'clever' / 'brilliant'
'excellent'
'bravo'
'perfect'
e.g. "Nakita mo ba kung paano n'ya minaneho 'yung sport car? Ang galing!"
"Did you see how he drove the sport car? Excellent!"
:)
